A Celebration of Whisky Culture
Created for The Whisky Festival 2018 at Singapore Changi Airport, the experience brought together the worlds of whisky appreciation, travel retail and immersive brand storytelling. Designed as more than a conventional tasting event, the festival invited travellers to explore whisky through discovery, craftsmanship and curated sensory experiences within one of the world’s busiest travel hubs.
The challenge was to create an environment that could appeal to both seasoned whisky enthusiasts and curious travellers passing through the airport. Rather than positioning whisky as exclusive or intimidating, the experience focused on accessibility, exploration and atmosphere — transforming the retail space into a destination of its own.
The visual direction drew inspiration from the richness and depth of whisky culture. Warm amber tones, layered materials and refined detailing reflected the craftsmanship behind every bottle, while contemporary layouts and experiential touchpoint created a modern and engaging festival environment. The balance between sophistication and approachability allowed the festival to feel premium without losing its sense of discovery and enjoyment.
More than an event, The Whisky Festival became a platform for storytelling — where heritage brands, tasting rituals and global whisky culture could connect with travellers in a memorable way. Every touchpoint was designed to encourage curiosity, conversation and experience, reinforcing Changi Airport’s position as a world-class lifestyle and retail destination.
